The American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine is an international medical school that offers a Doctor of Medicine program designed to prepare students for global medical practice. The institution provides a structured curriculum combining classroom-based basic sciences with clinical training in affiliated hospitals. Students begin their medical education on the Sint Maarten campus, where they develop strong foundations in anatomy, physiology, pathology, and pharmacology. After completing the pre-clinical phase, students transition to clinical rotations across teaching hospitals, primarily in the United States and other partner locations. The program emphasizes patient-centered care, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based medicine. AUC supports students through academic resources, simulation-based learning, and mentorship from experienced faculty. The school has an international student community and focuses on preparing graduates for residency training and medical licensure. Over the years, AUC has built partnerships with healthcare institutions to expand clinical training opportunities for its students.
