This online course is a comprehensive training program covering aspects of obstetric imaging and basic concepts in fetal medicine. The course is led by Dr B.S Rama Murthy, a passionate teacher and a pioneer in the field of fetal imaging. The program is aimed to enhance the skills of those involved in fetal imaging with the goal that, at the end of the program, all participants will have the knowledge and skills to independently perform obstetric scans. The programme combines study of basic screening methodology and also a detailed systematic protocol-based approach for each system evaluation of the fetus. The concepts of prenatal screening are constantly evolving and it is really a herculean task to keep ourselves updated with the current concepts in fetal medicine. The course gives an insight into fetal imaging and a holistic approach to evaluate fetal pathology.

1. This 12-month online course is a comprehensive training program covering all aspects of Obstetric ultrasound and Fetal medicine. All the three trimesters of pregnancy have been systematically covered in the syllabus. Each trimester is dealt through an impressive array of topic discussions. Ample ultrasound images and videos help hone the visual recognition skills of the participant. By the end of the course, the participant is adequately equipped to recognise abnormal from normal and to reach the correct diagnosis in a majority of cases.
2. The experience logged by the faculty over many years is brought forth through rare and difficult to interpret cases which may be encountered in daily practice.
3. There is self-assessment at the end of every lecture to test knowledge acquired
4. Access to online lectures for an extended period of time to allow self-paced learning and revision of talks and videos for in-depth learning
5. Facility for answering questions and clarification of doubts on material provided is also available.
6. Online image submission of images for assessment is a requisite for those opting for Certificate of Completion
7. In addition, we have an optional test at the end of the course (usually towards the end of the course), to certify the student has sound understanding of fetal medicine & obstetric ultrasound and is a pre-requisite for Certificate of Competence. This is now being done online and the option of an onsite exam (for those interested) may be reconsidered after the Covid Pandemic has settled.

Course Content:

The approximate study time for this module is 12 months and the whole course is categorically divided into multiple smaller modules, each typically have a few lectures within. Once you have viewed the lectures, please complete the self-assessment, to receive the certificate of participation. It is essential that you complete all modules and submit images online in order to obtain a certificate of completion at the end of the course.
