Candidate may require basic knowledge of Urdu as per institutional norms
Admission is conducted through centralized counseling process

The Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) program is a comprehensive undergraduate medical course designed to provide professional education in Unani medicine and holistic healthcare sciences. The course combines classical Unani principles with modern medical education and clinical exposure to prepare qualified healthcare practitioners.
The curriculum includes subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Community Medicine, Ilmul Advia (Unani Pharmacology), Moalajat (Medicine), Kulliyat (Basic Principles), Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib (Preventive and Social Medicine), and Ilaj-bit-Tadbeer (Regimental Therapy). Students also receive practical hospital training and clinical exposure throughout the course.
The program emphasizes both theoretical learning and hands-on patient care through laboratory sessions, hospital postings, diagnosis training, herbal medicine preparation, and compulsory internship. Students are trained to understand disease management according to Unani philosophy and provide treatment using natural and holistic therapeutic approaches.
BUMS education also focuses on preventive healthcare, dietetics, lifestyle modification, rehabilitation support, and natural healing methods. The course prepares students to practice Unani medicine independently and contribute to healthcare services in both public and private sectors.
After successful completion, graduates may work as Unani Medical Officers, clinical practitioners, wellness consultants, researchers, academicians, healthcare administrators, or pharmaceutical professionals.
