Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biotechnology

1. Should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
2. Educational Qualification: A candidate desiring to join the program leading to the degree B. Sc. (Medical Biotechnology) should have passed HSC/CBSE/ISC or equivalent examination with one of the following subject combinations:

• Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
• Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.

Biotechnology is fast emerging as a platform for new products and markets on many fronts, especially in biopharma and health care sectors. Medical biotechnology has potential to improve drug safety and efficacy, and can lead to a new era in disease prevention. The 3-year B.Sc. Medical Biotechnology program will cover a number of topics central to application of Biotechnology to medicine, and provide training to prepare the students for careers in industries producing pharmaceuticals and healthcare products.

Outcome: The graduates will gain comprehensive basic knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, Immunology, genetic engineering and apply them in developing solutions to complex problems and designing commercial diagnostic kits pertaining to biomedical and health care industry. The graduate exhibit necessary skills to address complex issues in patient care by investigating with biotechnology based knowledge and research methods.
