Bachelor of Optometry

Overview

The BSc Optometry program is a rigorous four-year undergraduate course aimed at eye care professionals. The curriculum covers ocular anatomy, physiology, optics, diagnostics, contact lens fitting, vision therapy, and detection of eye diseases like glaucoma and cataract. Students gain hands-on experience with advanced equipment such as slit lamps, phoropters, fundus cameras, and OCT. Graduates can work in hospitals and clinics, open optical centers, or pursue postgraduate studies or careers in research and public health

Eligibility

Passed 10+2 with PCB and English (typically ≥ 50% aggregate).

Selected through paramedical counseling based on merit and state seat allocation (intake of 40 seats since 2022)
