Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS) in Jammu is a trust-managed private medical institution established in 1995. Must qualify for the NEET-UG exam.
10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or Biotechnology), and English from a recognised board.
Minimum marks in 10+2: 50% for the general category, 40% for the reserved categories.
Age minimum: 17 years by December 31 of the admission year.
Candidates under reserved categories must meet the lower aggregate criteria.
For the state quota, the domicile requirement of Jammu & Kashmir is required. For the management/NRI quota, domicile may not be required, but the NEET qualification is mandatory.

Admission Process:
- Prepare & appear for NEET-UG nationally (conducted by NTA).
- Check eligibility: ensure 10+2 with required subjects & minimum aggregate marks, age requirement, etc.
- Register for counselling: For the state quota, register with JKBOPEE (Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations). For the all-India quota, via MCC (Medical Counselling Committee).
- Seat allotment: based on NEET-UG score and rank in counselling, availability of seats, and category quotas.
- Document verification & fee payment: Submit required documents (10th, 12th, NEET scorecard, identity proof, etc.) and pay admission + tuition fees.
- Enrollment & commencement of classes: Once a seat is confirmed, join classes as per the academic schedule. Then follow the curriculum, including clinical postings & internship.
