Must qualify for the NEET-UG exam.

10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or Biotechnology), and English from a recognised board.

Minimum marks in 10+2: 50% for the general category, 40% for the reserved categories.

Age minimum: 17 years by December 31 of the admission year.

Candidates under reserved categories must meet the lower aggregate criteria.

For the state quota, the domicile requirement of Jammu & Kashmir is required. For the management/NRI quota, domicile may not be required, but the NEET qualification is mandatory.

Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS) in Jammu is a trust-managed private medical institution established in 1995. It is affiliated with the University of Jammu and recognised by the National Medical Commission. ASCOMS offers an MBBS program with an intake of 100 students annually. The curriculum follows the CBME (Competency-Based Medical Education) model prescribed by NMC, ensuring both academic and clinical competence. Students undergo 4.5 years of rigorous classroom, laboratory and clinical training, followed by a compulsory one-year rotating internship across departments in the associated hospital, which provides exposure to a wide range of medical disciplines. The campus includes well-equipped lecture halls, laboratories, library facilities, and separate hostels for male and female students. The college aims to produce well-grounded medical practitioners who can serve both urban and rural populations.

1. Prepare & appear for NEET-UG nationally (conducted by NTA).
2. Check eligibility: ensure 10+2 with required subjects & minimum aggregate marks, age requirement, etc.
3. Register for counselling: For the state quota, register with JKBOPEE (Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations). For the all-India quota, via MCC (Medical Counselling Committee).
4. Seat allotment: based on NEET-UG score and rank in counselling, availability of seats, and category quotas.
5. Document verification & fee payment: Submit required documents (10th, 12th, NEET scorecard, identity proof, etc.) and pay admission + tuition fees.
6. Enrollment & commencement of classes: Once a seat is confirmed, join classes as per the academic schedule. Then follow the curriculum, including clinical postings & internship.
