Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

• Candidate must have passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
• Candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as compulsory subjects in Class 12.
• Minimum required marks in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology):
• General/EWS category: Minimum 50% aggregate marks in PCB.
• OBC category: Minimum 45% aggregate marks in PCB.
• SC/ST category: Minimum 40% aggregate marks in PCB.
• Candidate must have qualified NEET-UG examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
• The minimum age requirement is 17 years on or before 31st December of the admission year.
• Admission is granted through AYUSH counselling based on NEET-UG rank and seat availability.

The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) at Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic College (RGGPGAC), Paprola, Kangra is a 5.5-year undergraduate degree programme that includes 4.5 years of academic study and 1 year of compulsory internship. The course provides in-depth knowledge of Ayurvedic principles, traditional healing methods, diagnosis, treatment procedures, herbal medicine, and modern medical sciences. The curriculum includes subjects such as Ayurveda Samhita, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, General Medicine, Surgery, ENT & Ophthalmology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Panchakarma, and Preventive Medicine. Students receive practical clinical training through the college’s attached Ayurvedic hospital, gaining hands-on experience in patient care and Ayurvedic therapies. The programme prepares graduates for careers as Ayurvedic physicians, medical officers, researchers, academicians, and healthcare professionals.
