About Course

The Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center is a structured year-long clinical subspecialty program designed to provide high-level training in state-of-the-art cardiovascular imaging. The fellowship focuses primarily on advanced echocardiography, including 3D transthoracic and transesophageal echo, strain imaging, and structural/interventional echocardiography, with a unique emphasis on real-world procedural support — such as imaging for TAVR, mitral and tricuspid interventions, left atrial appendage occlusions, and other advanced structural procedures.
In addition, fellows gain significant experience in cardiac CT (including coronary CTA, vascular CTA, and pre-procedural planning for structural interventions) using cutting-edge scanner technology. There are optional rotations in nuclear cardiology, such as SPECT and PET myocardial perfusion imaging, and in cardiac MRI in collaboration with both cardiology and radiology departments, allowing flexibility to tailor training to individual career objectives.
Training occurs in a high-volume cardiovascular environment with exposure to a wide spectrum of pathology, multidisciplinary care teams, and advanced imaging platforms — preparing fellows for leadership roles in academic or clinical cardiology practices focused on multimodality cardiovascular imaging.
