The Women’s Health Physical Therapy Residency Program at Aurora Health Care in collaboration with Carroll University is a structured, postgraduate training designed for physical therapists seeking advanced specialty practice in women’s and pelvic health. Over a 12-month period, residents engage in a blend of intensive clinical mentorship, didactic coursework, and research experience targeted to conditions frequently encountered in women’s health physical therapy. Training emphasizes comprehensive clinical reasoning and application of evidence-based best practices for pelvic floor dysfunction, prenatal and postpartum issues, lymphedema, and other related conditions. Residents are mentored by experienced clinicians in settings that integrate patient care with professional development, preparing graduates to sit for specialty certification exams and function as expert clinicians. The residency promotes the acquisition of advanced assessment and treatment skills, interdisciplinary collaboration, and ongoing professional growth within the field of physical therapy. Two resident positions are typically accepted each year, providing individualized guidance and mentorship.
