The Thoracic Surgery—Integrated Residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is a six-year postgraduate training program that provides comprehensive education in the surgical management of diseases affecting the chest. Residents receive progressive clinical and operative training in areas including lung, esophageal, mediastinal and pleural diseases, with exposure to both open and minimally invasive surgical techniques. The program also provides experience in multidisciplinary patient care, perioperative management, thoracic oncology, lung cancer surgery, robotic surgery and advanced thoracic procedures. Residents participate in clinical education and research activities while developing the skills required for independent practice in thoracic surgery.
