Sree Mookambika Institute of Dental Sciences (SMIDS), founded in 1999, is one of the fastest growing Dental Colleges in South India. Sree Mookambika College of Nursing, it is the only dental college under The Tamil Nadu Dr. M G R Medical University which has a medical college within the same campus. It has an undergraduate intake of 60 students, and the Post graduate degrees began in 2002 and admit 16 students yearly.
