Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS) is a constituent college of Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) established in the year 1997 as Central Referral Hospital. The first batch of MBBS students were enrolled in the year 2001. 

Facilities:

Hostel Facility: SMIMS provides hostel facilities for around 600 students with 24 hours uninterrupted power and water supply, attached bathrooms and a 300 seated dining hall .The hostel also has a Gymnasium, Badminton Court, TV Rooms and internet facilities for the students. 

Hospital Facilities: The associated Central Referral Hospital is a 500 bedded tertiary care hospital .The hospital has 21 specialities and super specialities in Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Cardio-surgery and Urology with state of the art equipment's.

Conference & Seminar Hall: A 42 seated conference hall and a 45 seated seminar hall are also available to hold state and national level events.

Auditorium: The institution has a 750 seated auditorium with all modern facilities.

Library: SMIMS library has a seating capacity of more than 150 students at a time with all the modern facilities of computers, internet, interactive CDs to support the teaching, learning, and research activities of the students.
