S V M Ayurvedic Medical College and Research Center, Ilkal

Shri Vijay Mahantesh Ayurvedic Medical College is one of the premier Institution of Ayurveda in the North Karnataka, with a view of giving knowledge of Ayurveda to the rural part of Karnataka, it was established in 1992. Earlier it was affiliated to Karnataka University, Dharwad now after the commence of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore in 1996 it got affiliated to it, Since then the intake capacity of student increased from 50 to 60, and college & hospital are recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicine(CCIM) & Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi.

Facilities:

Library: Our library spreading about 1800 sq. ft. lodges more than 8100 volumes of books on Ayurveda and modern medicines. These include some very famous books on Basic Principles, Sushrut, Dravya Gun Vigyan, Ras-Shastra, Chikitsa, Prasooti Vigyan, Bal Roga, Shalya Vigyan, Shalakya Vigyan, Sharir Rachna, Sharir Kriya, Swasth Vrit, Agad Tantra.

Seminar Hall: The Seminar hall has LCD projector/slide projector/over head projector/models for making learning easier and interesting in different subjects like Anatomy, Physiology Dravyagun, Ras-shastra, Surgery, Panchkarma and Pathology.

Dissection Hall: Has ample facilities for dissection of dead bodies in its dissection hall with attached preservation room etc.

Sports: S.V.M. Ayurvedic Medical College Students involve in social activities like N.S.S., Jata, Medical Campaigns and medical counseling. S.V.M. Ayurvedic Medical College conducts Sports events every year, our students are University Blues in many games. In the year 2007 our college was graced for RGUHS 10 inter college athletic meet.

Laboratories: The college has a departmental based laboratories facility for the students.
