The Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Minnesota is a comprehensive training program that provides residents with broad clinical experience in inpatient and outpatient adult medicine across three clinical sites. The program includes training in general internal medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, cardiology, nephrology, infectious diseases, endocrinology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, palliative care, geriatrics, and other subspecialties. Residents also receive structured training in point-of-care ultrasound, medical procedures, quality improvement, research, teaching, and professional development, with opportunities for elective and international rotations.
