Eligibility Criteria

MD or equivalent medical degree.
Must complete a PGY-1 year before entering the Radiation Oncology residency.
The PGY-1 year must be in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Surgery/surgical specialties, or a Transitional Year program.
Submit USMLE/FLEX Step 1 or COMLEX Step 1 scores.
IMG applicants must have a valid ECFMG Certificate.
Graduates of foreign medical schools must have the required Post Graduate Training Authorization Letter (PTAL) from the Medical Board of California, as specified by the program.

About Course

The Radiation Oncology Residency Program is a four-year, ACGME-accredited training program designed to prepare residents for independent practice in radiation oncology. The curriculum provides multidisciplinary clinical training in the management of a wide range of cancers, including head and neck, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, CNS, breast, gynecologic, lung, hematologic, skin, and pediatric cancers. Residents receive training in advanced radiation techniques such as IMRT, 3-D conformal radiotherapy, image-guided radiotherapy, stereotactic treatments, and brachytherapy, with clinical rotations at Los Angeles General Medical Center, USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Admission Process

Submit the Personal Statement.
Submit the MSPE/Dean’s Letter.
Submit Curriculum Vitae (CV).
Provide a minimum of 3 Letters of Recommendation.
Submit Medical School Transcripts.
Submit USMLE/FLEX Step 1 or COMLEX Step 1 scores.
IMG applicants must submit a valid ECFMG Certificate and required California PTAL documentation.
Applications must be received by October 31.
Selected applicants participate in interviews beginning in late November.
The program fills its PGY-2 positions through the NRMP Match.
