Overview

The PG Diploma in Otorhinolaryngology (ENT / DLO) at RIMS Ranchi is a two-year program designed to train MBBS graduates in the management of ear, nose, throat, and related head and neck pathologies. The course is delivered by the Department of ENT at RIMS, which has strong infrastructure—including OPD, wards, operating theatres, and regular surgical exposure. Students get hands-on experience in diagnosing and managing common ENT conditions like chronic otitis media, sinus disease, nasal polyps, laryngeal disorders, and more. Given RIMS’s high patient load in its tertiary hospital setup, diploma candidates are likely to encounter a wide spectrum of ENT cases, both routine and complex. The course’s relatively low fee (₹ 13,000 for the full 2 years) makes it accessible. This diploma is particularly valuable for doctors who wish to practice ENT in general hospitals, rural settings, or community clinics, especially if they do not wish (or cannot) pursue a full MS in ENT.
