Post Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine (PGDFM)

Overview

Family medicine (FM) is a clinical medical specialty which is devoted to the comprehensive health care for people of all ages and provides continuing and comprehensive health care for the individual and family across all ages, genders, disease, and parts of the body.

Unlike other specialties that are limited to a particular organ or disease, family physicians are the only specialists qualified to treat most ailments and provide comprehensive health care for people of all age.

SKILLS ACQUIRED AFTER THE COURSE

·       Diagnosing and treating illness, preventive care, routine check-ups, health-risk assessments,

·       Counselling and Caring on maintaining a healthy lifestyle for patients

·       Understanding community-level factors and social determinants of health

·       Using data and technology to coordinate services and enhance care

 

Eligibility

Applicant should have done MBBS / AYUSH / MD / Equivalent
