Post Doctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology

The Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship at UC Irvine School of Medicine is an advanced clinical and research training program designed to provide specialized expertise in the diagnosis and management of respiratory disorders affecting infants, children, and young adults. The program, offered in partnership with Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach, provides comprehensive exposure to pediatric pulmonary conditions including asthma, cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, pulmonary hypertension, sleep disorders, chronic respiratory failure, and rare lung diseases. Fellows receive hands-on clinical training in inpatient and outpatient settings, along with experience in pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy, ventilator management, and multidisciplinary respiratory care. The curriculum integrates clinical education, research, scholarly activities, conferences, and faculty mentorship to develop advanced skills in pediatric pulmonary medicine, preparing graduates for careers as pediatric pulmonologists, clinician educators, and academic specialists.

2. Upload all required supporting documents through ERAS
3. Applications are reviewed by the Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship Selection Committee
4. Selected applicants are invited for fellowship interviews (interviews generally begin in mid-August and continue through September)
5. Program participates in the NRMP Pediatric Subspecialties Fall Match
6. Selected candidates complete institutional onboarding and credentialing requirements before joining
