Overview
The Obstetric Anesthesiology Fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine offers intensive subspecialty training in one of the nation’s busiest obstetric centers. Fellows gain extensive experience in providing anesthesia for labor and delivery, high-risk pregnancies, cesarean sections, and complex maternal-fetal conditions. The curriculum emphasizes evidence-based clinical care, simulation training, multidisciplinary collaboration, and quality improvement. Fellows work closely with obstetricians, maternal–fetal medicine specialists, and neonatologists to optimize maternal and neonatal outcomes. Opportunities for research, teaching, and leadership development are integrated throughout the fellowship year. Graduates are exceptionally well prepared for careers in academic anesthesiology and specialized obstetric anesthesia practice.

Fellows receive a PGY-level salary according to the McGaw Medical Center stipend schedule and are provided health, dental, vision, professional liability, retirement, paid leave, and CME benefits.

Eligibility
- MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
- Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency.
- Board eligible or board certified in Anesthesiology.
- Eligible for Illinois medical licensure.
- Submission of a completed application, CV, personal statement, and letters of recommendation.
- Successful completion of interviews and credentialing requirements.
