Overview
Post B.Sc. Nursing at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Nursing is intended for nursing practitioners who already hold a diploma (or equivalent) and wish to “upgrade” to a full B.Sc. qualification. The 2-year program provides an academic structure that combines theoretical instruction and clinical/practical training to deepen nursing competencies, improve knowledge of community, medical-surgical, maternal, child health, mental health, and other core nursing areas (similar to the regular B.Sc Nursing curriculum but tailored for experienced nurses).
The program aims to elevate skillsets to meet contemporary healthcare needs, equipping nurses for more responsible roles in clinical, administrative, educational, or community health settings. As part of a well-established medical institute (BRAMC) with a teaching hospital, students get access to hands-on exposure in a hospital environment and benefit from academic resources like labs and libraries.
After completing Post B.Sc Nursing, graduates are eligible to work as “graduate-level” nurses, take on supervisory or specialized nursing roles, or even pursue postgraduate nursing courses (such as M.Sc Nursing) for advanced specialization.
