PhD in Orthodontics and Dento Facial Orthopedics

Candidates with MDS or Dental PG Diploma are eligible for enrollment of Ph.D Course in Dentistry in concerned subjects only.

Orthodontics and Dento-facial Orthopedics, is the first specialty of dentistry that is concerned with the study and treatment of malocclusions(improper bites), which may be a result of tooth irregularity, disproportionate jaw relationships, or both. Orthodontic treatment can focus on dental displacement only, or can deal with the control and modification of facial growth. In the latter case it is better defined as "Dento-facial orthopedics". It is a special branch of dentistry which deals with the alignment of the teeth using sophisticated braces. The section of Orthodontics has a wide range of activities such as

• Preventive,
• Interceptive ,
• Corrective and Surgical.
