Overview

    • The RGCB is aim to prepare individuals who have a deep and genuine interest in discovery science to shape the translation of biotechnology through academic research towards applications for a knowledge economy, business development and science of tomorrow.
    • The RGCB is affiliated to the UNESCO- Regional Centre for Biotechnology, Government of India, University of Kerala, Manipal University, Mahatma Gandhi University and Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS).
    • Registration of the selected candidates will be as per the guidelines issued by these Universities for the award of PhD degrees.
    • The laboratory fee will be collected annually INR 5,000/- for the first 8 semesters and INR 10,000/- for every semester thereafter, in the month of January of every year.

Eligibility

    • The candidates who have completed post graduation in Life Sciences/ Environmental Science/ Veterinary/ Pharmaceutical/ Medical Sciences.
    • The candidates who completed Master of Science (MSc) in Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Biophysics/ Chemistry/ Microbiology etc.
    • The applicants should have minimum of 60% marks and as per UGC guideline.
    • The applicants should have valid JRF (UGC/ CSIR/ ICMR/ DBT/ DST-INSPIRE or any other nationally competitive fellowship) offered by the Government and should be valid for a period of 5 years.

Admission Process:

    • The applications for PhD programmes are invited twice a year and advertised in selected national newspapers and on the RGCB website.
    • The candidate should apply application form along with required documents submission.
    • The applications along with prescribed fees must be submitted online through the link given in the website on or before the deadline.
    • Incomplete applications and application without processing fees will be rejected.
