PhD in Biotechnology

1. Master’s degree in Biotechnology or a related field with ≥ 55% (≥ 50% for reserved categories)
2. Cumulative academic marks ≥ 54% overall (49% reserved) with no third division at any level
3. Qualified CRET Exam (both Level‑1 and Level‑2) – required unless exempted

• Level‑1: Objective test (research methods + subject-specific)
• Level‑2: Subjective test plus interview/presentation conducted by Departmental DPC

Exemption from CRET Level‑1:

• Regular AU faculty or constituent college teachers
• International applicants
• Armed Forces personnel

NET/JRF/GATE-qualified candidates must appear in both levels
