Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology is that branch which deals with diagnosis of oral diseases including Oral cancer. The objective of the department includes diagnosis of oral diseases including cancers, routine hematological investigations, teaching fundamentals of oral diseases to undergraduate students and train post graduate students. In the research front, the department collaborates in interdisciplinary cancer researches with Dept of Medical Biochemistry, Dept of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Dept of Physics and Dept of Marine Biology in various ICMR, UGC and/or DST funded projects in the field of therapeutics and early diagnosis. The department has published many research articles in reputed scientific journals and contributed chapters in text books.
