MS (Ayurveda) Shalyatantra

• Must have a BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery) degree from a recognized university
• Must complete a 1-year compulsory internship before admission
• Must qualify the entrance exam AIAPGET (All India AYUSH PG Entrance Test)
• Must have a valid registration certificate with:
• State Ayurvedic Council OR
• National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM)
• Should have minimum ~50% marks in BAMS (may vary by category/college)
• No upper age limit for AIAPGET exam

MS (Ayurveda) Shalyatantra is a 3-year postgraduate program that specializes in the surgical branch of Ayurveda, focusing on the diagnosis and management of diseases requiring surgical intervention. The course is based on classical Ayurvedic texts like the Sushruta Samhita and integrates them with modern surgical principles to provide a holistic approach to patient care. Students gain in-depth knowledge of surgical techniques, wound management, trauma care, and para-surgical procedures such as Ksharasutra and Agnikarma. Along with strong theoretical foundations, the program emphasizes extensive clinical training through hospital postings, operation theatre exposure, and real patient case handling.
