MS (Ayurveda) Shalakyatantra (Netra Roga Vigyana)

• Must have a BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery) degree from a recognized university
• Must complete a 1-year compulsory internship before admission
• Must qualify AIAPGET (mandatory for PG Ayurveda courses)
• Must have a valid registration certificate (State Ayurvedic Council / NCISM)
• Should have minimum ~50% marks in BAMS (may vary by category)
• Must secure minimum qualifying percentile in AIAPGET (as per category)
• No upper age limit for admission through AIAPGET

The MS (Ayurveda) in Shalakyatantra (Netra Roga Vigyana) at Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic College is a three-year postgraduate program that focuses on the Ayurvedic diagnosis and management of diseases related to the eye (Netra), along with ENT and head–neck regions. The course integrates classical Ayurvedic principles from texts like Sushruta Samhita with modern ophthalmic knowledge, enabling students to understand both traditional and contemporary approaches to eye care. It includes in-depth theoretical study of ocular anatomy, physiology, pathology, and therapeutic procedures, along with practical training in diagnostic techniques, surgical assistance, and para-surgical procedures such as Kriyakalpa (local eye therapies). Students also gain clinical exposure through hospital postings, research methodology, and dissertation work, preparing them for roles as Ayurvedic eye specialists, academicians, or researchers in the field of Shalakyatantra.
