The Pediatric Surgical Critical Care Fellowship is designed to provide advanced training in the care and management of critically ill pediatric surgical patients, from premature infants and neonates through adolescents. Training is centered at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and includes exposure to pediatric trauma, burns, neonatal intensive care, cardiovascular intensive care, transplantation, advanced respiratory and cardiovascular support, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. Fellows also develop advanced intensive care procedural skills and participate in multidisciplinary care involving pediatric surgery, trauma, neurosurgery, otolaryngology, orthopedics, and transplantation. The program provides opportunities for clinical research in Pediatric Surgery and Critical Care, with an additional option to pursue a Master of Science in Epidemiology.
