The Occupational & Environmental Epidemiology concentration prepares graduate students to study patterns, causes, and outcomes of diseases associated with environmental and workplace exposures. It combines foundational epidemiology principles with exposure assessment, toxicology, and data analysis tailored to occupational and environmental health research. Students engage in coursework spanning core epidemiologic methods, environmental epidemiology, exposure science, occupational disease topics, and practical data analysis for environmental health research. This training supports careers in research, public health practice, policy development, occupational health leadership, and academic or governmental roles. The program emphasizes rigorous scientific methods and real-world application of epidemiologic techniques to investigate health risks related to chemical, physical, and social environmental exposures.
