Neurological Surgery Residency Program

The Neurological Surgery Residency Program at UMass Chan Medical School is a 7-year ACGME-approved residency designed to provide comprehensive training in neurological surgery. The program combines progressive clinical neurosurgical training with two dedicated years of research and academic training during PGY-4 and PGY-5, allowing residents to develop advanced clinical, research and academic skills. The program accepts one categorical resident per year.

1. Submit a completed ERAS application
2. Upload the required USMLE transcript, MSPE, medical school transcript, personal statement and photograph
3. Submit 3 letters of recommendation
4. Submit ECFMG Certificate if applicable
5. Provide citizenship/visa status
6. All required documents must be submitted through ERAS; applications sent outside ERAS are not accepted
7. Selected applicants proceed to the residency interview process
8. The program accepts one categorical resident per year and participates in the applicable residency matching process
