It was started in the year 1996 with the undergraduate course in Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) with Annual intake of 60 students and postgraduate course Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) with the Annual intake 10 students. It is Affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka and recognized by Indian Association of Physiotherapists, New Delhi.
