Nadkarni Hospital and Test Tube Baby Centre, Valsad

Dr. Kishore (Surgeon) and Dr. PurnimaNadkarni (OBGyn) both Gold Medalists from KEM Hospital and G. S. Medical College Mumbai left the lure of city practice and decided to settle in rural South Gujarat. After working for 2 years in Trust Hospital and working for the District Family Planning Programme, Nadkarni Hospital was started in 1984 at KillaPardiinitially as a Surgical and Maternity Hospital. In 1995 the Test Tube Baby Centre was started which was the first rural IVF Program in India. This was possible as both the doctors acquired training in infertility from UK, USA, Australia and Germany in the early 90's and also visited different centres in India.
