Otorhinolaryngology (ENT)
Overview
The Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) department at AIMS Bellur provides a full-fledged MS programme, designed to impart comprehensive surgical and clinical training in ENT and head-neck medicine. The college is part of a large multi-specialty teaching hospital, which — per institutional sources — has a substantial infrastructure including operation theatres, ICU support, general wards, and specialty services, offering a diverse clinical exposure.
As an MS ENT student, you would be exposed to outpatient and inpatient ENT cases, diagnostic procedures (ENT clinic, audiology, endoscopy, imaging), surgical cases (otologic surgeries, head & neck surgeries, sinus surgery, trauma, etc.), and emergency ENT-related admissions. The diverse patient inflow (because of the hospital’s wide catchment area and multi-specialty services) supports hands-on learning and adequate case volume for training.
Academic structure includes regular teaching rounds, surgical posting, seminars, skill labs, and exposure to allied departments — creating a broad base for both surgical competence and academic knowledge. AIMS’s campus facilities (hostel, hospital, labs, library) support a conducive environment for PG students.
Given the surgical nature and wide scope of ENT (clinical practice, surgery, diagnostics, head & neck oncology, community ENT, otology, etc.), MS ENT from AIMS Bellur can prepare graduates for clinical practice in hospitals, private clinics, or further specialization (if desired), especially in regions with demand for ENT services.
