MS Orthopedics

ESI‑PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Joka, Kolkata is a government medical institution under the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India). Established in 2013, it is affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences and recognized by the National Medical Commission. The MS in Orthopaedics is a 3‑year postgraduate surgical training program designed to develop expert orthopaedic surgeons capable of diagnosing and managing musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. The curriculum includes advanced surgical techniques, trauma management, joint reconstruction, pediatric orthopaedics, and patient rehabilitation. Students undergo rigorous clinical rotations, hands‑on surgical exposure in the associated hospital, academic seminars, case discussions, and research activities under the guidance of experienced faculty. Orthopaedic residents gain exposure to a diverse range of cases in the ESIC Hospital’s orthopaedic wards and emergency services, ensuring well‑rounded training that prepares them for independent clinical practice, trauma centers, or academic roles after completion.

1. MBBS degree recognized by the NMC / Medical Council.
2. Completion of compulsory internship on or before the specified date by the counselling authority.
3. Valid NEET‑PG score with minimum required percentile (e.g., 50th percentile for General category, relaxed for reserved categories as per norms).
4. Registered with a State Medical Council or NMC.
5. Participation in NEET‑PG counselling (MCC and/or State/ESIC counselling).
