Minimum Education

Travancore Medical College & Hospital, Kollam, established in 2009, is a private medical institution affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Its attached Travancore Medicity Hospital provides modern multi-specialty clinical exposure.
The MS Ophthalmology programme is a three-year postgraduate degree designed to train specialists in the diagnosis and surgical management of eye diseases. Residents gain hands-on experience in cataract surgery, glaucoma management, retinal procedures, corneal transplantation, ocular trauma management, and refractive surgery. Training includes outpatient and inpatient care, operation theatre sessions, diagnostic procedures, seminars, case discussions, and research work under faculty supervision. Graduates are prepared for hospital practice, private clinics, academic roles, or super-specialty ophthalmic fellowships.
Seat intake: Typically 2 seats per year.
