Overview

The MS Orthopaedics program at Believers Church Medical College & Hospital (BCMCH), Thiruvalla, is conducted in accordance with the regulations of the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS). The department offers comprehensive training in trauma care, orthopedic surgery, spine disorders, joint diseases, and rehabilitation medicine.
Residents gain extensive hands-on experience through orthopedic outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, emergency trauma services, and operation theatres within the attached 700+ bedded multi-specialty teaching hospital. Training includes exposure to fracture management, joint replacement procedures, arthroscopy, spinal care, and pediatric orthopaedics.
Academic activities such as seminars, journal clubs, case presentations, audits, and interdisciplinary discussions are integral to the program. Postgraduate students are required to undertake research and submit a dissertation as per KUHS guidelines. On completion, graduates are well equipped to practice independently as orthopedic surgeons or pursue further subspecialty training.

Completion of Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI)
Qualified NEET-PG examination
Permanent medical registration at the time of admission
