Overview

Parul Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (PIMSR), Vadodara, is a relatively new medical institution (established in 2016) under Parul University. The MS Orthopaedics programme is one of its postgraduate surgical offerings, aimed at producing competent orthopaedic surgeons who can deal with trauma, bone/joint surgeries, congenital deformities, and degenerative disorders. Students undergo extensive clinical and operative exposure in the teaching hospital; they assist and perform surgeries, manage inpatient and outpatient orthopaedic cases, and participate in diagnostics (radiology, lab investigations) and follow-up care. The curriculum conforms to NMC standards. Seats for the course are limited, making admission competitive. Skills developed include fracture reduction, internal fixation, joint management, pre- & post-operative care, emergency trauma management, etc.
