MS Ophthalmology

1. MBBS degree recognised by NMC
2. Completion of one-year compulsory rotating internship on or before the prescribed cut-off date
3. Qualified NEET-PG examination
4. Permanent/Provisional registration with NMC / State Medical Council
5. Admission through centralised counselling as per State / All-India quota norms

The M.S. Ophthalmology program at Khaja Bandanawaz University, Kalaburagi is a three-year postgraduate clinical residency conducted in accordance with NMC postgraduate medical education regulations. The program provides comprehensive training in clinical ophthalmology, including cataract surgery, glaucoma management, retinal and vitreous disorders, corneal diseases, uveitis, paediatric ophthalmology, and neuro-ophthalmology. Residents gain extensive hands-on experience through outpatient services, operation theatres, inpatient care, diagnostic procedures, and emergency ophthalmic services. Academic activities include seminars, case discussions, journal clubs, surgical audits, community eye camps, and mandatory dissertation research. Graduates are well prepared for independent ophthalmic practice, fellowship training, academic roles, and public eye health services.
