MS Ophthalmology

1. MBBS degree recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
2. Completed one-year compulsory rotating internship.
3. Permanent/provisional registration with any State Medical Council/NMC.
4. Qualified NEET-PG with valid percentile for counselling.
5. Eligibility certificate from RGUHS prior to admission.

The M.S. (Ophthalmology) program at Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Mangalore is a three-year postgraduate surgical course designed to produce competent ophthalmic surgeons and clinicians. The curriculum blends theoretical knowledge, clinical exposure, and hands-on surgical training, covering comprehensive eye care from routine outpatient diagnosis to complex ocular surgeries. Residents gain experience in cataract extraction, glaucoma management, retinal evaluation, corneal disorders, and emergency eye care under faculty supervision. 1. Qualify NEET-PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Postgraduate) conducted by the National Board of Examinations.
2. Register for counselling through the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) or the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All-India Quota seats.
3. Fill and lock choices, selecting M.S. Ophthalmology at Kanachur IMS during counselling.
4. Seat allotment based on NEET-PG rank, reservation category, and seat availability.
5. Report to the institute with allotment letter and original documents (MBBS degree, internship certificate, registration).
6. Complete admission formalities, fee payment, and registration with RGUHS.
