MS Obstetric and Gynecology

1. Must hold an MBBS degree recognized by NMC.
2. Completed or expected to complete the compulsory rotating internship as required by NMC.
3. Qualified in NEET‑PG with the required minimum percentile for the admission year (e.g., ~50th percentile for General category, with applicable relaxations for reserved categories).
4. Possess a valid registration certificate (provisional or permanent) issued by the Medical Council of India or relevant State Medical Council.

The MS – Obstetrics & Gynaecology program at Trichy SRM Medical College is a structured three‑year full‑time postgraduate surgical course designed to develop expert skills in the care of women’s reproductive health. The course encompasses antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care; management of normal and complicated deliveries; gynecological diagnosis and surgery; infertility evaluation; family planning; and reproductive endocrinology. Clinical training occurs in high‑volume obstetric wards, gynecological operating theatres, outpatient clinics, and emergency services, allowing students to gain hands‑on experience with deliveries, caesarean sections, gynecological surgeries, ultrasound diagnostics, and patient counseling. Embedded within a tertiary care teaching hospital with dedicated OBG facilities and faculty support, the program also emphasizes evidence‑based practice, research participation, and interdisciplinary collaboration to prepare graduates for clinical practice, hospital leadership roles, academic teaching, and specialized care settings.
