Overview
- The MS Obstetrics & Gynaecology program at Believers Church Medical College & Hospital (BCMCH), Thiruvalla, is structured in accordance with National Medical Commission (NMC) and Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) regulations. The department offers comprehensive training in obstetrics, gynecology, family planning, reproductive medicine, and women’s health.
- Residents gain extensive hands-on experience in antenatal clinics, labor rooms, operation theatres, postnatal wards, and gynecologic outpatient services within the attached 700+ bedded multi-specialty teaching hospital. Training includes exposure to normal and high-risk pregnancies, operative obstetrics, minimally invasive gynecologic procedures, and emergency obstetric care.
- Academic activities such as seminars, journal clubs, case presentations, audits, and interdisciplinary discussions are integral to the program. Residents are required to undertake research and submit a dissertation as per KUHS guidelines. On completion, graduates are equipped to practice independently as specialists in tertiary care hospitals, academic institutions, and maternal health services.

Eligibility
- MBBS degree from an NMC-recognized institution
- Completion of Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI)
- Qualified NEET-PG examination
- Permanent medical registration at the time of admission
- Eligibility as per KUHS and Government of Kerala PG Medical Admission Rules
