MS Obstetric and Gynecology

Overview

• The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Medical College, Baroda is a well-established, tertiary-level care provider, serving a large catchment area that includes central Gujarat and neighbouring regions. The department offers comprehensive outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (ward) services, high-risk obstetric care, advanced fetal monitoring, ultrasonography and Doppler services, and surgical gynaecology procedures. 
• Facilities include a dedicated ~184-bed obstetric building (“Smt. Rukmini Chainani Prasuti Gruh”), obstetric ICU, colposcopy, fetal monitoring (CTG), cervical cancer screening, and modern ultrasound, including 4D Doppler systems. 
• The course admits about 14-20 students per batch (varies by source; some say 20 seats, some 14 seats) for MS Obstetrics & Gynaecology. 
• The fee for tuition over the full 3 years in the government cohort is approximately ₹90,000. 
• The department has a long history (since 1886) and is recognised for both undergraduate and postgraduate training. It is also a recognised centre for research (departmental projects, publications) and has modern surgical theatres, equipment for endoscopy, gynecological oncology, etc.

Eligibility

• MBBS (or equivalent) degree from an institution recognised by NMC.
• Complete or to complete the rotating internship by a specified date.
• Registered with the Medical or State Medical Council (permanent or provisional).
• Qualified in the NEET-PG exam and met the required percentile/cut-off for the category.
