MS Obstetric and Gynecology

Overview

The MS Obstetrics & Gynaecology program at NSMCH, Patna, equips doctors with advanced knowledge and clinical expertise in women’s reproductive health. The curriculum emphasizes antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, management of infertility, and gynecological disorders such as endometriosis, PCOS, and reproductive tract cancers. Students receive training in normal deliveries, caesarean sections, laparoscopic surgeries, and critical care of obstetric emergencies. The college’s attached teaching hospital provides significant patient exposure, ensuring hands-on training in labor wards, operation theatres, and intensive care units. Research activities, academic seminars, and case discussions form an integral part of the course, preparing graduates for roles as skilled clinicians, academicians, or for pursuing super-specializations (MCh/DM).

Eligibility

• MBBS degree from an NMC-recognized college/university.
• Completion of 1-year compulsory internship.
• Must hold permanent/provisional registration with NMC/State Medical Council.
• Must have qualified NEET-PG.
