- MBBS degree recognised by the National Medical Commission.
- Completed or due to complete one-year internship before the commencement of the course.
- Valid NEET-PG score in the respective admission year.
- Registration with NMC or State Medical Council (permanent or provisional).
- Participation in state/central counselling (via Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala or MCC).

Admission Process:
- Appear in NEET-PG: Register and sit for the national postgraduate medical entrance exam (NEET-PG).
- Qualify NEET-PG: Achieve a valid score that meets the exam’s cut-off criteria.
- Register for counselling: Apply via the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala for state quota and/or Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All-India quota.
- Seat allotment: Seats are allotted based on NEET-PG rank, category, and preferences during counselling.
- Document verification: Report to AIMS Thrissur with original academic and identity documents within the stipulated timeframe.
- Complete admission formalities: Pay fees, undergo medical fitness, and complete other registration procedures
