MS General Surgery

Overview

The MS General Surgery program at NSMCH, Patna, is designed to develop surgical specialists with expertise in diagnosing, managing, and surgically treating a wide variety of health conditions. Students gain extensive clinical and practical exposure through outpatient departments (OPDs), inpatient care, and operation theatres. The program trains doctors in both elective and emergency surgeries, including abdominal, thoracic, trauma, and soft tissue surgeries. NSMCH provides modern surgical facilities, advanced diagnostic support, and intensive care units to ensure robust training. Students also participate in academic activities such as case discussions, seminars, research, and surgical workshops. Graduates are well-prepared to work as surgeons in hospitals, pursue super-specializations (MCh), or serve as academicians.

Eligibility

• MBBS degree from an NMC/MCI recognized college/university.
• Completion of 1-year compulsory internship.
• Permanent or provisional registration with NMC/State Medical Council.
• Must have qualified NEET-PG.
