The MS in General Surgery at Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH) is a rigorous three-year residency program aimed at producing skilled surgeons with strong theoretical knowledge and practical expertise. FAAMCH, a government medical institution established in 2011, provides postgraduate training in well-equipped operation theatres, surgical ICUs, and emergency wards. Eligibility
- MBBS degree recognized by NMC (formerly MCI).
- Completion of 1-year rotating internship.
- Permanent/provisional registration with State Medical Council/NMC.
- Qualified in NEET-PG examination.
- Admission through All India Quota counselling (MCC) or State counselling (DME Assam).

Admission Process:
- Central Admission process by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), based on NEET PG entrance exam merit list. The MCC will publish the seat matrix, online application dates & deadlines and allotment schedule on its official website, for different admission round for 50% seats of MD/MS/Diploma courses through out India. The remaining 50% seats will be allotted through State Admission Counselling process. After online seat allottment, candidates need to report with required documents at their alloted institute within a given timeframe, failing which will null & void the alloted seat and it will be filled in next allotment round.
