MD Tuberculosis & Respiratory Diseases

1. Completed MBBS from a recognised medical institution.
2. Completed or will complete the one‑year rotating internship by the deadline specified by the NMC and counselling authority.
3. Qualified NEET‑PG with the required category‑wise percentile.
4. Valid registration certificate (provisional or permanent) from the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council.

The MD – Tuberculosis & Respiratory Diseases program at Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre is a three‑year postgraduate medical degree designed to train physicians in the specialized care of patients with respiratory diseases. Through academic coursework, bedside clinical training, and rotations in respiratory wards and intensive care units, students develop skills in clinical evaluation, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy procedures, TB management under DOTS programs, and interpretation of diagnostic tests. The department is supported by dedicated outpatient clinics, bronchoscopy and thoracoscopy suites, pulmonary rehabilitation services, and a DOTS centre, providing opportunities to manage a wide spectrum of respiratory conditions and tuberculosis cases. Graduates are prepared for careers in pulmonology departments, respiratory care units, academic hospitals, and public health settings addressing TB and chronic lung diseases.

1. Appear for NEET‑PG and secure a valid score in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses (NEET‑PG).
2. Register for counselling through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota and/or the State Medical Counselling Authority for the State Quota.
3. Fill choices: During counselling choice filling, select MD – Tuberculosis & Respiratory Diseases at Trichy SRM Medical College as a preferred programme.
4. Seat allotment: Seats are allotted based on merit (NEET‑PG rank), category, and availability.
5. Document verification: Report for verification of original documents — NEET‑PG scorecard, MBBS degree, internship completion certificate, registration proof, identity proof, and other required certificates.
6. Fee payment & admission confirmation: Pay the required tuition and admission fees to confirm the seat.
7. Hostel allotment (if opted): Apply for on‑campus accommodation after admission.
