MD Respiratory Medicine

The MD – Respiratory Medicine program at KVG Medical College & Hospital, Sullia is a three-year postgraduate clinical training course designed to develop specialists in pulmonary and respiratory care. The program provides in-depth training in the evaluation and management of acute and chronic respiratory diseases, pulmonary infections, and respiratory failure.

Residents gain hands-on experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, intensive care units, and emergency services, with exposure to pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy, imaging interpretation, and ventilatory support. Special emphasis is placed on tuberculosis management, asthma and COPD care, interstitial lung diseases, and critical respiratory care.

Affiliated with RGUHS and recognized by the NMC, KVG Medical College offers a structured academic environment supported by experienced faculty, regular academic activities, case discussions, seminars, and research work. Graduates are well-prepared for careers in hospitals, chest clinics, critical care units, teaching institutions, and public health respiratory programs.

1. MBBS degree from an NMC-recognized institution
2. Completion of 1-year compulsory rotating internship
3. Permanent medical registration (State Medical Council / NMC)
4. Qualified NEET-PG examination in the relevant academic year
5. Fulfilment of RGUHS and KEA counselling eligibility norms
