MD Respiratory Medicine

1. MBBS degree recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
2. Completed one-year compulsory rotating internship.
3. Permanent/provisional medical registration with any State Medical Council/NMC.
4. Qualified NEET-PG with valid percentile as required for counselling.
5. Eligibility certificate from RGUHS prior to admission.

The M.D. (Respiratory Medicine) program at Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) is a three-year postgraduate clinical training designed to prepare physicians in the specialized care of respiratory diseases. Students receive in-depth exposure to a variety of pulmonary conditions — from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma to infections like tuberculosis and complex interstitial lung diseases. Training includes clinical rounds, outpatient and inpatient care, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy exposure (where available), critical care medicine, and academic case discussions. The curriculum is aligned with RGUHS academic standards and NMC regulations, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills to produce competent respiratory medicine specialists capable of addressing community and hospital-based respiratory healthcare needs.

1. Qualify NEET-PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Postgraduate).
2. Register for counselling through Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) or MCC All-India Quota as applicable.
3. Fill and lock choices selecting M.D. Respiratory Medicine at Kanachur IMS.
4. Seat allotment based on NEET-PG rank, reservation, and seat availability.
5. Report to the college with allotment letter and original documents (MBBS degree, internship completion certificate, registration).
6. Complete admission formalities, fee payment, and register with RGUHS.
