The MD – Radio Diagnosis programme at Symbiosis Medical College for Women (SMCW), Pune is a newly introduced postgraduate clinical specialty approved by the National Medical Commission and commenced from the 2025 academic session onwards. The course is conducted at the Symbiosis University Hospital and Research Centre (SUHRC), a tertiary care teaching hospital equipped with modern diagnostic imaging infrastructure. The programme provides structured training in conventional radiology, ultrasonography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and interventional radiology fundamentals. Emphasis is placed on image interpretation, radiological anatomy, radiation safety, ethical practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Residents are actively involved in patient diagnosis, reporting, emergency imaging services, academic teaching, seminars, journal clubs, and clinical research. The course aims to develop competent radiologists capable of delivering accurate, timely, and evidence-based diagnostic services in both academic and clinical healthcare settings.
